UPDATE: March 27, 2020 / A message from Scott Bieler

As we find ourselves continuing to navigate through extremely challenging circumstances, we want to try and keep you updated regarding our company.  The coronavirus (COVID-19) situation remains a fluid and rapidly changing situation for people and businesses around the world.  Recently, New York State has implemented a mandatory closure of non-essential businesses to increase social distancing efforts to hopefully slow down the spread of the virus.  The state has classified auto repair facilities as essential services and remain open.  Sales operations are available online only and in-store deliveries available on an appointment only basis as the showrooms are currently closed.  Remote pickup and delivery options may also be available, contact a specific store for details.

The health and safety of our employees and customers remain our top priority during this challenging time.   We have modified our staffing and schedules to increase social distancing efforts and we continue to stay focused on our enhanced cleaning protocols.  As of today, there are no confirmed cases of the virus within our employee network.

In accordance with Governor Cuomo’s executive order to close non-essential businesses, all of our sales showrooms are now closed until further notice.  However, we can assist with sales via online and telephonic communications, and facilitate in-store deliveries via appointment only.  Our showrooms remain closed to the general public, and we have updated our facility cleaning and social distancing protocols for the safety of our customers and employees.  As the situation continues to evolve rapidly, please, contact us for more details.

We are also introducing West Herr Curbside, a new way to purchase a vehicle while maintaining social distancing. Shop online, and select our Curbside option to take delivery outside of our dealership.

During this period of hardship, the expression of hope and gratitude I have seen amongst our team is truly something to admire. I am very impressed by each and every one of them.  They exhibit genuine concern for one another, our customers, and our company, which has shown me that we not only employ exceptional employees, but exceptional human beings as well.

Our thoughts and prayers are with all of our customers, employees, and families in Western New York.  You have always stood by us and shown our company tremendous loyalty.  We remain committed to standing by you.  We will get through this together.

Sincerely,

Scott Bieler, President and CEO

March 12, 2020

As we have all seen in the recent headlines, the coronavirus situation continues to evolve daily throughout the world.  We want you to know that extra precautionary measures are being taken at every West Herr facility to protect both our employees and our customers.

We believe it’s important to share the steps we are taking to keep our people safe and our facilities clean.

Our team is monitoring local, federal, and world information websites daily, including the CDC.gov, as well as other health organizations, and are following their recommended guidelines.

First and foremost, we are taking preventive measures to keep our stores clean and maintain a healthy environment.  Stores are cleaned daily, which includes using sanitizing solutions in high-touch, high-traffic areas. We have increased our staff’s focus on cleaning and provided extra cleaning resources to be used throughout the day.

Additionally, we have asked our employees to prevent any unnecessary contact with other team members and customers, including refraining from shaking hands and regularly cleaning their personal work stations.

Looking forward, we have implemented an extra deep clean at each location, that will take place each week.  We will also continue to evaluate all areas in which we can increase sanitization throughout our store processes.  Door handles, steering wheels, entry ways, bathrooms, and all common areas inside and outside the dealership are being analyzed for sufficient sanitization options.  Additionally, we are prepared for a third-party sanitization effort, should it be needed for a store impacted by the virus.

Second, as one of the largest employers in Western New York, we take the health of our employees seriously.   We have instructed all the leaders of our company to be aware of any employee not feeling well and enforce our stay at home policy, to minimize any unnecessary exposure to contagious illnesses.

Third, we are suspending non-essential meetings, travel, and gathering of large groups of people, while also evaluating remote working options for many departments.  Business conducted outside of the area is being evaluated as well.

Finally, we want to remind our customers that we are here to serve you and can remain flexible in this challenging environment.  If you would like to consider a delivery or pickup option for sales or service, please contact the store for availability.  We will do our best to accommodate any requests or concerns you may have and remain committed to being available to service your automobile needs.

Thanks for the opportunity to serve you.  Rest assured, we are doing everything we can to provide a safe West Herr experience for our customers and a healthy environment for our team.

Sincerely,

Scott Bieler, President and CEO
