Partner Spotlight: Roswell Park – Andre the Warrior

4-year old Andre Sanders was honored during this year’s “Hockey Fights Cancer” night for his heroic battle with Cancer.

Andre has stage three Nephroblastoma, also known as Wilms tumor, a rare kidney Cancer that primarily affects children.

When Andre was diagnosed, the family decided to relocate to Buffalo from Georgia, to attend Roswell Park. Andre’s mother, Alexandra, had formally worked there and knew it was where she wanted him to receive treatment.

He has completed six weeks of chemo and has 27 weeks remaining.

Because of his brave battle with Cancer, the family refers to their son as, ‘Andre the Warrior.’

They family hopes to bring awareness to pediatric cancers like the one their son is suffering.
