TECHNICIAN TUESDAY: Chris Ioannone
For this week’s Technician Tuesday, we took a trip to West Herr Collision Center and Auto Glass Henrietta and had the pleasure of speaking with Paint Technician, Chris Ioannone!
Chris, originally from Brockport, NY, began his journey in the auto industry at the young age of 15. He got his start at Woody’s Collision in Greece, moving around a bit before finding his home with West Herr in 2017. When asked about his early days in collision work, Chris shared, “My dad did it when he was 17 years old, and I kind of just fell into it.” His father’s influence was a major factor in Chris’s career choice.
We asked Chris about his transition to West Herr, and he explained how we wanted more experience and it’s a job that provides financial security and more financial freedom. While his anniversary date with West Herr is back in 2017, he’s been with us for two years, fully embracing the opportunities and experiences here.
Outside of work, Chris is a dedicated musician, playing shows every weekend and even some during the week. He’s in a band called “Audibull,” and has been playing the drums for over 20 years. His musical journey started with a drum kit his father bought him at eight years old. “I just figured the rest out on my own, and it took off from there,” Chris said. As a self-taught musician, he’s passionate about his craft and has been with his current band for nearly three years.
Chris’s band plays 90s and 2000s hard modern rock, covering bands like Slipknot and Limp Bizkit. His passion for music and strong work ethic shine through in everything he does, making him a valued member of the West Herr team.
Balancing his job at West Herr with his music career, Chris appreciates the flexibility his boss, John, provides. His hard work and dedication are evident, as he starts his day at 6:30 am and continues to give his all both at work and on stage.
Chris is very fond of his coworkers and has learned a lot from them especially when he first joined West Herr. “I’ve picked up a lot from watching and seeing what works and what doesn’t,” he said, highlighting the collaborative and supportive environment at West Herr.
When it comes to his career goals, Chris is content where he is, driven by his passion for his work. “I can’t see myself wanting to move from where I am at the moment,” he stated.
Cheers to you, Chris! We are thrilled to have you on #TeamWestHerr and wish you continued success in all your endeavors!
