TECHNICIAN TUESDAY: Daniel Kaszuba
For this week’s #TechnicianTuesday, we headed over to BMW of Rochester to meet Technician, Daniel Kaszuba! Daniel just celebrated his fourth anniversary on Team West Herr!
When Daniel was figuring out his career path, he wasn’t sure where he would land. He knew that he didn’t want to take the college approach, so he began working at BMW of Rochester as a Porter, mainly washing cars. His management team recognized that he had a natural talent working with cars and wanted to watch him grow into a technician role!
Daniel says although he didn’t quite think he would end up working with cars, he always loved taking things apart to put them back together. He mentioned the reason he gave West Herr a shot was because he had a friend on Team West Herr who encouraged him to give it a shot! Daniel mentioned the reason he’s since stayed is simply because of the people.
“Everyone is so much fun. The environment is awesome, and working on cars is cool, too,” Daniel says.
Outside of work, Daniel is an avid outdoorsman and loves to camp! “I pretty much work to be able to afford camping gear,” Daniel jokes. He also mentions that he loves to golf, play guitar, and ski! He mentions that his favorite place he’s camped is Limekiln Lake in the Adirondacks! Daniel has ambitions to backpack Mount Marcy in the Adirondacks this year! He says the best thing about hiking is the sense of accomplishment he gets once he reaches the peek.
Daniel has a lot of goals for himself at West Herr and always is looking towards the future. “Working on cars is fun, but I think the goal is to progress up into something else,” he says.
When asking Daniel about the best part about his job, he says it’s being able to do something new every day. “It’s a lot of fun trying to figure things out, especially someone like me who is still learning a lot,” he says. He also adds that, again, the people are a huge part of why he enjoys his job so much. “Having the camaraderie in the shop is one of the best parts,” he adds.
Daniel works with a lot of amazing people, and he mentioned that if someone needed help, everyone is willing to step in. He wanted to shout out a few of his fellow Technicians that had helped him along the way! Daniel is so happy to work with an amazing group including Aaron Happ, Shawn Gardner, Mike Fiorino, Rob Stanhope, Jeff Morlang, and Damion Warren! Daniel also wanted to shout out his Service Manager, Doug Martin & Service Advisor, Tracey Dooley.
Daniel has such an amazing drive & work ethic, and we cannot wait to see all that he accomplishes! Keep up the amazing work, Daniel!
