TECHNICIAN TUESDAY: Devin Debski

July 15th, 2025 by
For this week’s #TechnicianTuesday we headed over to Audi Buffalo to meet Technician, Devin Debski.
Devin has been a full-time employee at West Herr for two months now following his graduation from Erie Community College. Before attending ECC he attended The University at Buffalo as a computer science major. However, Devin explained that he was looking to change his major and trying to figure out what he wanted to do, “I always liked working on cars, growing up my grandfather worked on cars, and he had his own shop, so I was around it all my life.” He then found the ECC Auto Technician Program and applied. Through this program he got an apprenticeship with West Herr and was placed at Audi Buffalo where he has worked part time for the last two years and has now stepped into his full-time role. He recently completed a two-week class in New Jersey where he became a Certified Technician!
Devin’s favorite part of the Auto Technician program was that in school he got to work on his own vehicles. With this, he got to rebuild the whole engine on one of his cars. Also, he has gained a valuable mentor in Technician Mike Caezza, who has helped teach him a lot in the past two years as a part-time employee and through his transition into full-time.
One thing Devin loves about working for West Herr is that when he started here, he wasn’t just thrown in and expected to know everything. One of the reasons he chose to stay at West Herr after the end of his program was because they let him go at his own pace, making everything more enjoyable and helping him learn better. He also mentioned the help of his past college experience, “Being in the technology field definitely helped when coming here where we have a lot of advanced technology systems.” He also loves group lunches and connecting with everyone in the shop. He has had the opportunity to build relationships with everyone in service, and he said they really make you feel special at West Herr.
Devin’s favorite part of the job is that the days are never slow. He explained how he has worked a few jobs before this one where days go by slowly, but now he works 7am-5pm and the days fly by because he truly loves what he is doing.
Outside of work Devin enjoys going to the gym and hanging out with his girlfriend and friends. He also likes to work on his own car, a Volkswagen, even though it’s not an Audi. Devin also has three dogs: Zeke, Zena, and Zeus!
Devin wanted to give a shoutout to everybody at Audi Buffalo, especially Technicians Greg Dodson, Garrett Dorr, and Mike Caezza, who have stepped into mentor roles for him, and his Service Manager, Andy Whitte. Looking towards the future, Devin would like to climb up the ladder and eventually become a Foreman. “I would like to eventually have that role running the shop,” Devin says. Also, he would prefer to stay and continue to work for the Audi brand.
We are so lucky to have Devin on #TeamWestHerr and we can’t wait to see what he accomplishes! Keep up the great work, Devin!
