West Herr Celebrates Giving Tuesday with Ford Friendship Express & Donation of New Vehicles to Three Youth-Focused Nonprofits
The Western New York Ford Dealers today donated three all-new 2023 Ford Transit vans totaling more than $150,000 to three youth-focused nonprofits – SABAH (Spirited Athletes Bold at Heart), Nativity Miguel Middle School of Buffalo and Buffalo Maritime Center – as part of its annual Ford Friendship Express program.
Launched in Buffalo, New York in 1996, the Ford Friendship Express program provides an opportunity for organizations in need of transportation to share their stories with hopes of receiving a new van donation from the local Ford Dealers. This year’s recipients are all based in the City of Buffalo and focus on student education and youth development.
“Since we began the Ford Friendship Express program 27 years ago, it has been one of our top priorities—to give deserving organizations reliable transportation, so that they can continue to succeed and provide meaningful services to those in need,” said Scott Bieler, West Herr President/CEO & Chairman of the Ford Friendship Express Selection Committee. “We have an inspiring group of organizations and people with us this year – all serving our youth and our next generation of leaders.”
Over the course of the last 27 years, the Western New York Ford Dealers are proud to have donated more than 100 new vehicles to deserving nonprofit organizations across Western New York and in Northwest Pennsylvania through the Ford Friendship Express program.
“As we celebrate Giving Tuesday, it makes sense to mark this season of charitable giving with the unveiling of this year’s Ford Friendship Express recipients – a very special time for us,” said Chuck Basil, Chairman of the Western New York Ford Dealers Association. “It has truly been an honor and privilege to support our local nonprofits through the Ford Friendship Express Program and we are pleased to help increase access to their extraordinary services and further their missions in the community.”
