West Herr Donates 300 Turkeys and Thanksgiving food items to Rochester area residents
Today at the West Herr Rochester Auditorium Theatre, Mayor Malik Evans thanked Scott Bieler, President and CEO of West Herr Automotive Group, as well as Members of his Executive Team, for dropping off 300 frozen turkeys and accompanying bags of Thanksgiving food items – all of which will be delivered to families in need in the City of Rochester.
“During this Thanksgiving season, I hope that all who celebrate have the opportunity to gather with loved ones and enjoy one another’s company,” said Rochester, NY Mayor Malik D. Evans. “Thank you to West Herr for its donation that supports Thanksgiving dinner for 300 Rochester families and thank you to our partner organizations whose work with our community ensures that such aid can reach those in need.” The City’s partner organizations for supporting this donation included Aenon Missionary Baptist Church, First Genesis Baptist Church, Helping Hand Missionary Baptist Church, Keeler Park Apartments, Refugees Helping Refugees, and St. Andrew’s Food Cupboard.
The turkeys and bags of food items were a portion of a larger total of more than $100,000 in frozen turkeys donated by the West Herr Automotive Group, and over 5000 bags of Thanksgiving related food items collected from employees and customers across West Herr’s locations over the past month. Thanks to West Herr, the 300 turkeys and accompanying bags of food items were delivered to the West Herr Rochester Auditorium Theatre this morning. Volunteers from the 6 organizations, along with the Mayor and his staff, then packed up the donations for delivery so local families would not have to go without this Thanksgiving season.
Mr. Bieler said, “Rochester has been ranked the most neighborly city in America. It is because of that, that our customers and employees have made these donations possible. We are so thankful for all the support from the Flower City community. We are so proud and grateful to be a part of this wonderful community and feel blessed to be in a position to help those who need it most.”
The West Herr Auditorium Theatre was the last stop in a tour of Western New York, Rochester, the Finger Lakes Region, and East Syracuse that saw West Herr dropping off donations for families in need. The over $100,000 worth of turkeys, and over 5,000 bags of food items, donated to various organizations, will feed thousands of residents in Rochester, the Finger Lakes and Upstate New York this coming holiday.
