Transporting equipment and healthy snacks to neighborhood programs got a little easier for the Independent Health Foundation thanks to a partnership with West Herr Auto Group. The Independent Health Foundation received a 2023 Ford Transit Van that will enable the organization to better serve neighborhoods across Western New York through its robust and diverse programming.

The van, which was custom wrapped, made its debut over the summer with Good for the Neighborhood, and will be an invaluable asset to the Independent Health Foundation’s numerous programs including Soccer for Success, Healthy Options and Fitness for Kids Challenge.

“Our mission is to meet people where they are at, and that translates into many trips to neighborhoods across Western New York,” said Carrie Meyer, Executive Director of the Independent Health Foundation. “We’re bringing fitness and sports equipment to neighborhood parks and schools with Soccer for Success and the Fitness For Kids Challenge, as well as health screenings and fresh fruits and vegetables to communities through Good for the Neighborhood and Healthy Options. This van from West Herr will make all these deliveries much easier for our dedicated staff and volunteers. We are beyond grateful for their support and look forward to a season filled with new possibilities.”

West Herr Auto Group is the largest automotive dealer group in New York State with 39 locations representing 27 brands. West Herr Cares is the company’s philanthropic initiative that supports nonprofit organizations while developing strategies to help improve the quality of life for residents in Western and Central New York.

“We’ve been in Western New York for 73 years and the support we’ve received from the community has been overwhelming. Because of that loyal customer base and also because of our hard-working, dedicated employees, we are able to give back to the communities we serve to make a difference for those who need it most,” said Scott Bieler, President and CEO of West Herr Automotive Group. “West Herr is always looking to partner with organizations which are helping people live better lives and the Independent Health Foundation has a 30-year history of doing just that. We’re proud to support their work.”
