West Herr Hosts Inspiring Book Launch Benefiting Cystic Fibrosis Foundation
Buffalo, NY — Scott Bieler, President and CEO of the West Herr Automotive Group, hosted a Book Launch luncheon at The Powerhouse in Buffalo. The book celebrates the contributions of 24 extraordinary women who give of their time, energy, expertise and resources to enhance the quality of life in our region.
The book is entitled “Inspiring Women of Western New York” and is written and photographed by media personality Jackie Albarella. Production of the book has been fully underwritten by West Herr Auto Group. Additionally West Herr has donated $50,000 to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation of Western New York.
At the luncheon, Bieler said, “I am proud to know these women and share in their passion for helping others. I applaud their commitment to service and am grateful to live and work in a community full of such inspiring individuals.”
“While every story is unique,” he continued, “each of these women exhibit empathy, integrity, persistence, and dedication to make a positive impact on the world around them. We are honored to capture their essence in this book, and to herald their contributions to our community.”
“In addition to celebrating outstanding women in our community, this book is intended to increase awareness for the fight against Cystic Fibrosis. The story of my Godchild, Nicole Kowal, included in this book, demonstrates that we are making great stride in research and treatment, but there is still more to do,” Bieler concluded.
“The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation is deeply grateful for the support of the West Herr Auto Group,” said Heather McKeever, Executive Director, WNY Chapter, Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. “Their generosity will positively affect the daily lives of those managing the challenges of living with CF and, hopefully, will add decades to their lives,” she concluded.
Mayor Byron W. Brown introduced some of the women featured, including Dr. Drucy Borowitz from Jacobs School of Medicine, Rhonda Frederick from People Inc. and Candace S. Johnson, PhD from Roswell Park, who shared their stories at the Book Launch luncheon on Wednesday.
