Mayor Byron W. Brown today thanked Scott Bieler, President and CEO of West Herr Automotive Group, as well as Members of his Executive Team, for dropping off 500 frozen turkeys and accompanying bags of Thanksgiving food items at Buffalo City Hall, all of which are going to families in need. The event took place in the parking area along Jerge Drive, outside Buffalo City Hall.

Mayor Brown said, “Thanksgiving Day is a time to be thankful, a time to remember, and a time to appreciate those whose efforts have helped to ensure that everyone has food on the table this Thanksgiving Day holiday. West Herr Automotive is one of Buffalo’s strong public-private relationships, and on behalf of City residents, I thank West Herr President and CEO Scott Bieler for his continued generosity. In Buffalo, we’ve been through a lot over the last few years, and while recovery efforts continue, challenges remain for many of our friends, family, and neighbors. In the spirit of thankfulness, I am grateful to the West Herr Family!”

The turkeys dropped off at City Hall were a portion of a larger total of more than $100,000 in frozen turkeys donated by the West Herr Automotive Group, and over 5,000 bags of Thanksgiving related food items collected from employees and customers across West Herr’s locations over the past month.

Thanks to West Herr, the 500 turkeys and accompanying bags of food items, were unloaded at Buffalo City Hall this morning. And, throughout the day, volunteers, many of them City employees, will fan out to deliver them. The turkeys and food items will be delivered to some of Buffalo’s most vulnerable residents, who pre-registered for the donated holiday meals.

Mr. Bieler said, “This truly is the City of Good Neighbors. We are so thankful for all the support from our customers and employees who make this donation possible. We are so proud and grateful to be a part of this wonderful community and feel blessed to be in a position to help those who need it most.” Buffalo City Hall was just one of many stops in Buffalo and throughout Western New York, Rochester, Finger Lakes Region, and East Syracuse where West Herr was dropping off the donations for families in need. The over $100,000 worth of turkeys, and over 5,000 bags of food items, donated to various organizations will feed thousands of residents in Buffalo and Western New York this coming holiday.
