West Herr Makes Significant Gift to Heritage Christian Services Homes with Heart Campaign

Heritage Christian Services’ Homes with Heart campaign has received tremendous support from the community since going public last year, and for its overall goal of $9.1 million. West Herr Automotive Group recently made a significant gift to the campaign, which has inspired the agency to officially name the home on Names Road in Chili as the “West Herr Automotive Home” at a ribbon-cutting ceremony.

“This critical work is the heart of our agency’s mission: to ensure that people who choose to live in our supported homes can live in dignity, comfort and grace through all phases of their lives,” said Mark Zawacki, executive director of the Heritage Christian Services Foundation and vice president of advancement at Heritage Christian Services. “Support from our community partners like West Herr Automotive is needed now to make this crucial work happen.”

Over 60% of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities supported by Heritage Christian Services are 50 years of age or older, and their physical needs are changing. The homes supported by the campaign are designed to be comfortable and familiar for people of all ages, with features like wider hallways for wheelchair access, walk-in bathrooms and a concentration of amenities on the ground floor, to name a few.

Scott Bieler, president & C.E.O. of West Herr Automotive, spoke about the reasons behind his recent, sizeable donation to the campaign.

“The work of Homes with Heart resonates strongly with me,” said Bieler. “I have seen what Heritage Christian Services is capable of for many years, and know that my gift will go a long way in supporting so many people.

The outcomes of the Homes with Heart campaign are estimated to enrich the lives of more than 400 people over the next 60 years. Visit https://HCSHeart.org.
