WEST HERR WEDNESDAY: Chris Troxel

For this week’s #WestHerrWednesday, we made our way over to West Herr Subaru of Lockport to meet with Sales Consultant, Chris Troxel!

Although Chris joined Team West Herr just a few weeks ago, he brings with him nearly three decades of experience in automotive sales.

 Before stepping into the world of car sales, Chris served in the U.S. Army for eight years. After completing his service, he started his career selling phones. When asked if sales was always the plan, Chris told us that he originally thought he would work in home security installation. However, after being encouraged to give sales a try, he quickly discovered a natural talent and love for building connections with people.

 That first job set Chris on a journey that would lead him to the car industry, where he has now been helping customers find the right vehicle for almost 28 years. And although he is new to the West Herr family, he’s already feeling right at home.

 Originally from Kansas, Chris eventually settled down in Buffalo and fell in love with the city. He says we need to “keep Buffalo a secret!” Despite his roots, he is quick to clarify that he is not a Chiefs fan. Instead, Chris has been a loyal Chargers supporter for years… although he admits that Josh Allen may be winning him over.

 When asked what drew him to West Herr, Chris said “the culture”. He described a friendly and supportive environment, adding that the way team members treat each other is something that immediately stood out to him. West Herr represents more than just a new job for Chris; it is the beginning of a new chapter. “I wanted a fresh start,” he told us.

 In just a few short weeks, Chris has already begun building meaningful relationships with his coworkers. He gave a special shoutout to Sales Consultant, Chris Souza, who has helped him get settled. Looking ahead, Chris has his sights set on making President’s Club, a goal we have no doubt he’ll reach with his experience and dedication to getting to know customers.

 Outside of work, Chris spends his days off with family. He particularly enjoys playing with his grandkids (ages 6, 4, and 1) and says he feels incredibly lucky to have them close by. When he’s not with them, you can likely find him at home surrounded by his crew of pets: three dogs (Winston, Iris, and Rigley) and two cats (Frankenstein and Ellie Mae).

 We asked him what his favorite part of working in sales was. Chris simply said, “Talking to people and learning their stories”. He views every conversation as an opportunity to connect more. Joining West Herr has given him a new set of stories to learn, and he cannot wait to hear them all. He says, “it’s a part of the new adventure.”

We’re beyond excited to have Chris as part of the team and can’t wait to see the impact he’ll make. With his positivity, work ethic, and passion for people, he is already off to a great start. Welcome to the West Herr family, Chris!
