WEST HERR WEDNESDAY: Christina Tarbox

May 8th, 2024 by

For this week’s West Herr Wednesday, we headed over to West Herr Honda of Lockport to meet Sales Consultant, Christina Tarbox! Christina has been with West Herr for about two and a half years now but has recently transitioned into Sales.

Before Christina had began her journey at West Herr, she was a Special Education Teacher’s Assistant and a Bartender, so she had no background in sales or automotive. Christina says she was going through a time in her life where she needed to provide a more stable income for herself and her children, and then is when she found her place at West Herr!

Her best friend, Nikki Warning, who is the Office Manager at West Herr Honda of Lockport had mentioned there was an open position as a Cashier. Christina mentions she knew that she had wanted to end up in car sales eventually, so starting within the dealership in a different position would be a great way to get her foot in the door. “I decided to dive in and move up as fast as I could,” Christina says.

In just over two years, Christina had quickly moved up through different opportunities at her store. Upon starting as a Cashier, she had soon transitioned into a Title & Billing Clerk. Soon after that, she became a Finance Assistant, which then led to becoming a Sales Assistant. After two months of assisting in sales, she began selling on her own! She has now been selling independently for about seven months now!

Christina says one of her favorite things about working in car sales is the freedom. “You are essentially your own business within a business,” she adds. Christina says this job gives her the freedom to still spend time with her family while building a solid career for herself.

Christina has her hands full with her daughter, her son, her stepdaughter, and their abundance of pets! Her pets include two horses, a pony, two dogs, and three cats! Christina mentions that she has grown up around horses her whole life, so she was excited that her kids are following in her footsteps. She also says that she is always busy with her son’s sports schedule too, but she wouldn’t want it any other way!

When asking Christina about her co-workers, she had nothing but positive things to say! First and foremost, she wanted to shoutout & thank her best friend and Office Manager at her store, Nikki Warning, for encouraging her to apply for the open Cashier position in the first place.

Christina also wanted to give John Davidson, her former General Manager, a shoutout as well. “He was the one who gave me a shot at sales so quickly,” she says. John has now moved over to our West Herr Toyota of Orchard Park location. Scott Delacy, Mike Vazquez, Mark, Milleville, and Tom Radice are also people who Christina says have helped her get to be where she is today, and she is forever grateful for them!

When asking Christina about her goals & aspirations at West Herr, she mentions that now, she’s loving where she’s at. “I love being the one to help the customer from start to finish,” she adds.

Christina says that one of her favorite memories in her time at West Herr was when her old General Manager, John Davidson, came into work dressed as his favorite singer, Pitbull, for Halloween! She says that one of the best things about her job is how close-knit all the employees are at her store.

Christina has so much drive & ambition and we are so lucky to have her on #TeamWestHerr!
