WEST HERR WEDNESDAY: Ciara Downey

For this week’s West Herr Wednesday, we headed over to West Herr Acura to meet Service Consultant, Ciara Downey! Ciara just celebrated her one-year anniversary with West Herr this past April.

Prior to working at West Herr, Ciara has a technician background. She worked for Delta Sonic at their mechanical lube shop and gained her certification as a technician. Ciara mentions her father has a mechanical background, which is how she got her start in that industry.

She explains that she was at the Acura dealership as a customer when she was given the opportunity for employment. “I came in to put a down payment on a new car and left with a job offer,” Ciara says.

Ciara mentions that the offer came at the perfect time for her. “I just needed a change. I applied that day and the rest is history!”   

When asking Ciara what her favorite parts of working at West Herr are, she mentions it is how close her and her co-workers are. “The Acura store is smaller, so we are a very tight-nit group. We are all very close.”

“I am definitely a people-person, so I love being able to cater to our customers.” Ciara says as she mentions her favorite part about her job. “I love being able to connect with people.”

When asking Ciara about her long-time goals here at West Herr, she mentions she wants to stay on the Service side of the industry. “I would love to be in management for Fixed Operations,” she says.

Although Ciara loves being a Service Consultant, she has thought about becoming a technician here at West Herr. She says, “I love what I do, but it’s always a possibility.”

When Ciara is not working, she loves to stay busy! She mentions her and her boyfriend, Nick, love the outdoors. One of their favorite places to travel together is the Adirondacks.

Nick & Ciara have a dog named Mason, and a hedgehog, Penelope!  

Ciara adds in that she has a green thumb and loves to garden. You will also find her fishing or riding her side-by-side through the trails.

Ciara & Nick recently purchased their first house together and will be moving in shortly! She mentions she is most excited to have a house with a lot of property.

Ciara grew up with Acura’s in her family, so she is ecstatic to be working for her favorite car brand. “My dad had an RSX when I was 7 and it was my first introduction to Acura.” From there, Ciara was hooked and soon purchased her 2023 Acura Type S, which she is super proud of!

One fun fact about Ciara is she has a family-owned restaurant in Niagara Falls, NY called The Como Restaurant and Lounge! This has been in her family since 1927.

Ciara has such a bright future here at West Herr, and we can’t wait to see all that she accomplishes!
