WEST HERR WEDNESDAY: Gus Haddad

For this week’s West Herr Wednesday, we headed over to West Herr Chrysler Dodge Jeep RAM of Lockport to meet Sales Consultant, Gus Haddad. While Gus may be a new addition to Team West Herr, he is no stranger to the automotive industry.

Gus has been with West Herr for about six months now but has been in the automotive industry for about 15 years. Before entering car sales, Gus worked in the media as a news producer, reporter, writer & editor! He decided that was not the long-term plan he had in mind for himself, so he transitioned and decided to give sales a try. After three months, Gus was unsure if he had ended up in the right position. He eventually ended up leaving the auto industry and sold jewelry. Gus says he excelled there and wanted to give automotive sales another shot. This time around, Gus found his groove and hasn’t looked back!

Gus says he truly loves being around people. He says he had experiences purchasing cars of his own and for his family and thought he had similar qualities that his sales consultants possessed, which is part of the reason he wanted to give it another shot.

Gus is originally from Virginia but made his way to Buffalo about 12 years ago. His daughter married and relocated to Buffalo, so Gus wanted to be around family and his granddaughter!

Gus worked at a local dealership for a bit of time but wanted to take a step back. In this time, he found himself looking for new opportunities which lead him to West Herr. “I love the atmosphere and the consistency of how things are being done,” Gus says.

Outside of work, Gus loves to stay busy and spend quality time with family. “I love to play backgammon with my future son-in-law,” he says. He also notes that he loves to swim and visit cigar lounges! Gus adds that he is an avid traveler, and he loves to explore new countries and states. He’s been to a total of 26 states – halfway there!

Gus says that every single member of the sales & management team has helped him become accustomed to the ‘West Herr Way’ and made sure he understood the processes and procedures so he can be as successful as possible. “When Mac started here, it felt like I’ve known him forever,” he says. Mac Fogarty is the General Manager of West Herr Chrysler Dodge Jeep RAM of Lockport and is an excellent leader to learn from.

 Looking towards the future, Gus’s main goal is to simply sell more cars. With his determination and drive, we know that won’t be an issue! Gus wanted to send a message to his customer base: “There is so much integrity in what we do. We always make sure the customer is happy and not being put under any type of pressure,” he says.

“This has probably been the best six months in the car business that I’ve had so far,” Gus says excitedly.

Gus has made a great addition to our team, and we are so lucky to have him! Keep up the amazing work, Gus. We can’t wait to see all that you accomplish!
