WEST HERR WEDNESDAY: Kaitlynn Sempert

For this week’s West Herr Wednesday, we headed over to West Herr Chrysler Dodge Jeep RAM of Orchard Park to meet Title & Billing Clerk, Kaitlynn Sempert! Kaitlynn has been with West Herr for about 15 years now!

Kaitlynn says she got a lot of her inspiration to join the automotive industry from her grandfather. She says growing up, her grandfather would drive tow trucks, and she would often tag along! When Kaitlynn was in college, she started as a Cashier at West Herr. Her mom, Jen Sempert, is the Office Manager at West Herr Chrysler Dodge Jeep RAM of Orchard Park, which is also another reason why Kaitlynn wanted to give the automotive industry a try!

Kaitlynn graduated with a degree in baking & pastry and hotel & restaurant management, which is something she still does on the side! Funny enough, Kaitlynn’s grandfather also inspired this portion of her life as well! “My grandfather owned a towing company, but also was super into baking,” Kaitlynn says.

Kaitlynn says her favorite thing to bake would either be cake or cupcakes! One thing she would love to master is custom cookies with royal icing!

When Kaitlynn thinks back on her time here at West Herr, she says there are so many good memories that come to mind. “I feel like I’ve grown up with a lot of these people, especially Craig Florkowski,” she says. Craig is a Sales Consultant who has been working with Kaitlynn since she first started! She says that her store is very close-knit, and she says that everyone is willing to help each other with whatever they can. “We all are working towards a common goal – to sell cars and make the customer happy. We all do a really great job with that,” she says.

She says she also has a really great time working with her mom! Jen Sempert, Kaitlynn’s mom, is the Office Manager of her store, and Kaitlynn says it’s been really great working together. “She’s really shown me a lot and she’s always there to help me do my job better,” she adds.

Kaitlynn says a huge reason of why she’s stayed at West Herr for so long has been because of her management. “When you find someone that treats you well, it’s hard to leave,” Kaitlynn says. She mentioned when she first started working at her location, George Achtziger was her General Manager. George has since moved over to our Maintenance Department, but Kaitlynn says she always appreciated how George encouraged her to challenge herself and try to learn new things! She also had the pleasure of working under Brian Cosen, who Kaitlynn describes as a great guy.

Outside of work, Kaitlynn loves to hang out with friends, family and her dogs! She has a two-year old cousin named Joseph who she watches weekly and says they are best friends! Kaitlynn and her family also just rescued a puppy from Buddy’s Second Chance Rescue named Mac! She also has a beagle named Sigma & a labradoodle named Mater. Kaitlynn also loves to go to bingo on Wednesday nights with her co-workers and family!

Looking towards the future, Kaitlynn has a lot of goals for herself here at West Herr. She mentions she would one day love to follow in her mom’s footsteps and run her own office as an Office Manager. She also says she would love to explore the Finance Department a little more and potentially become a Finance Assistant!

Kaitlynn is such an asset to Team West Herr, and we cannot wait to see all that she accomplishes! Keep up the amazing work, Kaitlynn!
