WEST HERR WEDNESDAY: Nina Hart
For this week’s West Herr Wednesday, we headed over to West Herr Subaru of Orchard Park to meet Sales Consultant, Nina Hart. Nina has been working at West Herr for a little over seven months now!
Prior to working at West Herr, Nina was in the restaurant industry for a few years where she served & bartended. Nina was trying to decide what her next career move would be, and she was unsure of what she wanted, the one thing she knew is that she wanted to work with people. Never did she think she would end up in car sales, but she mentions she is so happy that she did!
Nina shadowed at West Herr with Gretchen Peterson, an old Subaru Sales Consultant who has since moved into Management at our West Herr Toyota of Orchard Park location! Nina mentions it was a no brainer after she spent just one day with West Herr. “It was perfect, and it just clicked,” Nina added.
She says that she immediately knew that West Herr was the work environment she wanted to be in after one day mainly because of the people. She also mentions the intensity of the job is something that she thrives in. “It’s just such a high energy environment, it’s perfect for me.”
Nina just recently became a full time Sales Consultant this past September! While she has gained a lot of tips and knowledge from her co-workers, she mentions there was still a bit of a learning curve. “I think the biggest thing for me was navigating negotiating with my customers,” Nina says. She mentions that the relationships she’s formed in her time here have been so important and one of her biggest motivators.
When asking Nina the best part about her job, it’s hard for her to pick just one! “I love cars and being able to work with them is awesome,” she says. She also mentions one of her favorite things is how close-knit her store is, both inside and outside of work. She says her fondest memories are getting together with her co-workers outside of work and getting to know them outside of the dealership.
She also says that she has made some incredible friends out of her customers and has maintained those relationships even after their sale was completed. Nina’s very first sale at West Herr was to her best friend Chloe! “I got her in a new Subaru Crosstrek and she was so happy!” says Nina. She mentions how rewarding it was to help her best friend buy her dream car.
Outside of work, Nina has a lot of hobbies that keep her busy! She grew up playing the piano and singing, so music is something she loves to focus on outside of work. She also loves to stay active by going to the gym, hiking, and skiing in the wintertime! Nina also has two toy poodles, Nobi & Loki!
Nina has a lot of amazing co-workers that have helped her from the start to get acquainted here at West Herr. “I love Gretchen Peterson to death, she is the one who made me fall in love with this job,” Nina says. She also wanted to shout out Amber Trost & Marc Nagy, who she calls her “go-to’s.” She says that she looks up to them immensely and is so lucky to have co-workers and friends like them!
Nina adds that she truly owes so much to Marc & Amber. She was actually Marc’s assistant for a period of time, and says she has learned mostly everything she knows from the both of them. In Nina’s opinion, they are the best in the business!
Nina has a lot of ambition and goals for herself here at West Herr. She says she would absolutely love to achieve President’s Club in 2024, and with her attitude and determination, it should be no problem for her! She also says that she would potentially like to explore management in the future, but for now she is loving what she’s doing.
A fun fact about Nina is she can speak Russian! She also mentions that her favorite cars are between a Chevrolet Tahoe, or an Audi R8!
We are so happy to have Nina on Team West Herr, and we can’t wait to see all that she accomplishes! Way to go, Nina!

It’s a joy to see Nina so happy at West Herr. She loves the work environment and the work. You’ve got a special person on your staff, the best of Western New York. Her face will be a welcome one when women and men enter the sales floor. The industry is moving in the right direction. Can’t wait to read that you’ve made the President’s Club in the new year, Nina.
