WEST HERR WEDNESDAY: Terry Hohl

For this week’s #WestHerrWednesday we headed over to West Herr Nissan of Lockport to meet Title & Billing Clerk, Terry Hohl!

Terry has been working at West Herr for five years. She started working here after her son, Brian Hohl, who has been working at West Herr Ford of Amherst for nine years, recommended that she apply for the position. She explained that he just kept telling her, “Just answer the phone when they call,” and that’s exactly what she did!

Terry had never worked in the automotive industry before working at West Herr. However, she told us that her uncle owned a car dealership in Ohio. “I’ve been around it all my life, but I never really physically worked in one.” Terry was actually an Optician for many years before West Herr. Many members of Terry’s family are opticians as well! Since joining West Herr five years ago Terry has really enjoyed her time at Nissan of Lockport. She genuinely likes everything she does, and she really likes the people that she gets to work with every day. “We’re like a family here,” Terry added.

Terry has many fond memories at the dealership when asked to reflect on the past five years working here. She not only loves all the antics that go on within the dealership, but she enjoys it when everyone gets together outside of work as well. She emphasized that they have a lot of fun, “We try to do a monthly outing, like dinner, with the employees which is really nice.” When asked about what her favorite part of her job is, Terry couldn’t pick just one part. She emphasized again that she really just likes everything about it and the relationships she has been able to form with her coworkers.

When Terry is not at the dealership, she can be found spending time with her kids, grandkids, and hanging out with her dogs at home. She has two dogs: Holly, a Yorkie and Callie, a Charles Cavalier Bijan mix. She also has two grandchildren who she often takes care of, a granddaughter who is three, and a grandson who is two.

Terry wanted to give a shoutout to all her coworkers at Nissan of Lockport, especially her coworkers who trained her, Dory and Katie. Terry began training just before the pandemic, so when she came back afterwards, she was happy that she was well trained and remembered everything that they had taught her during her training! Terry is grateful that everyone treats her wonderfully and is always willing to help her out! “We’re all very close, we’re all a team.” Terry said that if anyone is looking into becoming a Title & Biling Clerk, they should absolutely go for it! She said, “You have to be a quick thinker and have a lot of patience.”
