West Herr’s Donation In Support Of SUNY Erie Community College Fuels Vehicle Technical Training Center
West Herr Automotive Group is proud to announce a significant donation to SUNY Erie Community College in support of their Vehicle Technical Training Center located in Orchard Park. This contribution reinforces the long-standing partnership between West Herr and SUNY Erie, aimed at strengthening workforce development and technical education in Western New York.
West Herr has employed hundreds of SUNY Erie graduates over the years, including its President and CEO, Scott Bieler, who is a proud alumnus of the college. The donation will help enhance hands-on training opportunities, modernize equipment, and expand co-op programs that allow students to earn while they learn, bridging the gap between classroom instruction and real-world experience.
“Our community is stronger when our community college thrives,” said Jay Galligan, Vice President of Fixed Operations at West Herr. “We believe in investing in the future of automotive education and supporting the students who will become the next generation of skilled technicians.”
The agreement was brought to fruition through the leadership of SUNY Erie President Dr. Adiam Tsegai, whose commitment to student success and industry collaboration has been instrumental in advancing the college’s technical programs.
This donation is part of West Herr’s ongoing commitment to education, workforce development, and community engagement. Together, West Herr and SUNY Erie continue to build pathways to rewarding careers and a stronger regional economy.
