WINNER OF THE WEST HERR “WIN JOSH’S TRUCK or $100,000” CONTEST CHOOSES $100,000 CHECK
On Thursday, November 2nd during a special unveiling event at West Herr Ford in Amherst, NY, the West Herr Automotive Group presented the winner of their 6 week long “Win Josh’s Truck or $100,000” Promotional Contest with their choice of a Ford F150 Shelby Raptor Pickup Truck once owned and driven by (and now autographed by) Buffalo quarterback Josh Allen, OR a life-changing $100,000 monetary prize.
The contest winner, Josh G, of Buffalo, NY, announced the big decision live at the event, choosing the $100,000 monetary prize! He said, “Our family loves Josh Allen, and we love his truck, but $100,000 is life-changing money, and we couldn’t pass it up. We will be able to do so much with this prize money and are so excited and grateful!”
The winner was randomly selected from OVER 550,000 entries received during the contest, which ran from September 1st through October 16th in the Buffalo, Rochester and Syracuse areas. Matt Lasher, Director of Marketing of the West Herr Automotive Group said, “The contest was an unprecedented success, and caused a great deal of social media discussion everywhere. Most of that discussion debated the question, “if you won, would you take the truck or the money?”, with the majority of people leaning toward taking the $100,000 monetary prize. Ultimately, the contest winner agreed and chose that prize on Thursday!”
In addition to awarding the prize at the event, West Herr also presented a check for $17,103.27 to the Patricia Allen Fund, benefiting John R. Oishei Children’s Hospital. This total represented the amount that contest entrants voluntarily donated as part of the promotion (and of course it was $17k!).
Scott Bieler, President & CEO of the West Herr Automotive Group, said, “Everyone at West Herr loves Josh Allen, and it was such an exciting opportunity to be able to offer this contest to the fans and supporters. The response we received far exceeded anyone’s expectations – unlike anything seen before. And, the icing on the cake was that thanks to the fans, it also resulted in a tremendous contribution to the Patricia Allen Fund, benefiting John R. Oishei Children’s Hospital, which is so close to Josh’s heart. West Herr continues to be overwhelmed by the support of the community and thanks everyone who participated.”
The event then concluded with a final check donation to the Patricia Allen Fund from Scott and Kathy Bieler on behalf of the Scott R. Bieler Family Foundation for an additional $100,017. About the donation, Bieler said, “we are so proud of the great work Dr. Renee Reynolds (MD, neurosurgeon, Oishei Children’s Hospital) and all of the other outstanding individuals at Children’s Hospital are doing to provide the best healthcare possible for the children of Western New York. It is with this mind that are pleased to present this donation.”
